Why do employees need skill-building in networking?

Unconnected employees hurt your outcomes because their contributions to management, productivity, creativity, business development, sales, retention, and recruitment are limited by their lack of access to the right resources, ideas, and people.

Do you recognize the unconnected in your organization?  Wonder who they are?

  • Introverts, who comprise about half the US population.  They say things like, "I do a good job.  Why do I need to network?"
  • People who classify themselves as shy.  In 1972 when the Stanford Shyness Clinic began, that   number was 40%.  Now it′s almost 60%.  So shyness is a growing problem.  Interestingly, the youngest generation - the most plugged-in generation ever - is the shyest.
  • New hires who get off to a slow start.
  • People who have chosen careers in what have traditionally been thought of as "behind-the-scenes" jobs, such as engineering, IT, research, finance, science, etc.
  • Employees thrown together in new ways after mergers or acquisitions.
  • People whose networks have been disrupted by layoffs or reorganizations.
  • Internationals, unfamiliar with - and uncomfortable with - US-style relationship-building.
  • Employees from diverse backgrounds who have traditionally been over-looked and under-estimated.

What's in it for your organization?

When you deliver the Contacts Count networking skills training, you′ll be giving your employees the skills they need to
  •          Get the job done,
  •          Get behind organizational initiatives,
  •          Get the most from conferences and meetings
  •          Get the business, and
  •          Get ahead.

A recent MIT study found that employees with the most extensive digital networks
were 7 % more productive than their colleagues, but employees with
the most cohesive face-to-face networks were 30% more productive!

Washington, DC area.   October 20-22, 2010

Note: The first day of the training runs from 4 to 8 p.m., so you can plan to arrive in the morning or afternoon.  Hotel information will be sent as soon as you register.  Or call us now for the information and make an early reservation with the hotel. Space is limited.  Please register at least 30 days prior to the event. You′ll receive your training materials by mail as soon as you register.

What's the investment?

There are two fees associated with this program.

1.
Train-the-Trainer fee: (Includes all materials.  Five meals will be provided.  You are responsible for your travel and lodging costs.)

a.    For one person from your organization: $4,000
b.    For 2 people from the same organization: $7,000
(We recommend that you get 2 trainers certified, so they can support each
other in building a networking culture throughout your organization.)
c.    Payable by check made out to Contacts Count and received at least 30 days prior to the event. (Cancellation fee: $850 if  cancelled within 30 days of the program.  No refund if cancelled after that date.)
d.    Lodging and travel are covered by the participating organizations.

2.
Annual licensure fee per organization, for a minimum of 3 years: $5,000 per year, renewable thereafter. The first year licensure fee is payable by check made out to Contacts Count and must be received by the first day of the training.  In subsequest years we shall invoice you 30 days prior to the anniversary date of the training for payment within 30 days.

What is covered in the licensure fee?

Your organization′s right to use the Participant Manual and Leader′s Guide for 3 years. This includes your right to reproduce, disseminate through any medium, and make the material available inside your organization.      (Note: Unlike other training programs that charge you each time you use their materials, your license with Contacts Count gives you the right to use the materials with any number of people, anytime, for any internal activity or training situation.  And unlike other programs, the license gives you the right to teach any or all of the modules independently, and to insert any or all of them into existing programs, such as Leadership Development or Orientation.)

How do
Contacts Count's fees compare to other certification program fees?

Comparing this program to two other train-the-trainer certificate programs shows that ours is quite reasonable.   The two other programs are 3 to 5 days long, versus our 2.5 days.  Our cost for training 2 of your trainers is $7,000 versus $35,000 or $9,000 for the other programs.   Our third advantage is in annual fee: we charge a flat licensing fee as opposed to a $100 fee for materials for each trainee.

See this comparison of costs for training two trainers, who then train 200 employees a year:

Contacts Count          Company A               Company B

Days for Train-the-Trainer            2.5                                     3-5                            3-5

Fee to Train 2 Trainers              $7,000                               $35,000                  $9,000

Yearly License Fee                       5,000                                  -0-                            -0-

Materials for 200                             -0-                                  20,000                   20,000

Total                                           $12,000                               $55,000                 $29,000

NOTE: Since the use of our materials is covered in the License Fee, you may train as many

employees as you like, at no additional cost.
